Volunteering – Your Brain Will Thank You For It

When you volunteer, you trigger a wave of positivity.

Not only for the benefit of the people that you are volunteering for but also for yourself.

There was already a great deal of research that helping others was good for your physical and mental health.

And now some new research is confirming that the good vibrations from volunteering just keep on coming.

The goodness when you volunteer may now also extend to your brain health.

A study led by the University of Calgary discovered that seniors who volunteered at least once a week on a regular basis were 2.4 times less likely to develop dementia than those who didn’t volunteer.

More details about the study are outlined in the following video from Global News.

So go on – volunteer. Your brain will thank you for it!
