The Blessings (and Wisdom) of Aging

By Susan Williams

Getting old. Sadly, there are many people that are not really not looking forward to the experience. They often see it as a time of loss or a reduction in their ability to enjoy their lives. But as the people in the following video point out, aging can be truly a blessing.

The following entertaining video was shot at a retirement community where some of their members shared their views on aging. Here are just a few of their thoughts and wisdom on getting older;

“The best part of getting older is losing inhibitions.”

“You get away with stuff.”

“Being curious keeps your brain young.”

“Have a passion, feed the passion.”

“It’s the way you look at things. Forget the age. Just go on everyday and take advantage of everyday.”

“There’s no need to think that your life ends at 65 or 70 years. Life is very interesting at 95.”

“Getting old is out. Getting older is better.”

“Some people think that when you’re old that’s it. But they are stupid. They don’t know. It’s not too bad at all.”

So here’s to embracing aging and all it’s blessings!
