(Portion) Size Really Does Matter

Obesity rates are rising in Canada and based on a study published by University of British Columbia, in 2003 22.3 per cent of Canadians were estimated to be obese and that percentage has climbed to now an average of 25.3 per cent.   Obesity can pose significant health risks and has been shown to have an association in contributing to a number of different types of diseases and health conditions.

One contributor to weight gain is the amount of food that you eat.  The following infographic demonstrates how food portions have increased over the last ten years and what you can do to help manage the quantity of food you eat better.  In the fight against obesity – portion size really does matter!
