Never Too Late To Start Exercising

Never Too Late To Start Exercising

I know – exercise can be challenging to incorporate into our daily lives.

I like to consider myself as being pretty active but I still can come up with some good excuses not to be. I’m busy, I’m tired, I don’t feel like it, I’d rather do something else – you name it, I’ve probably said it.

But I’m realizing just how important exercise is to our overall health – especially as we age.

And the benefits of exercise are significant.

According to the Canadian Physical Activity Guidelines exercise can reduce the risk of premature death, heart disease, stroke, high blood pressure, certain types of cancer, type 2 diabetes, osteoporosis and obesity.  So if that’s not enough motivation to keep me moving, I’m not sure what is.

I happened to find two role models that I thought did a great job of reminding us that it’s never to late to get started.  So if you think it is too late for you – it’s not. Just be sure to get the okay from your Doctor first if you’ve been sedentary for a while.
