When The Dream Becomes Reality – The Beyond Sixty Project

When The Dream Becomes Reality – The Beyond Sixty Project

By Susan Williams

A few years ago I met Melissa Davey.

We actually found ourselves connecting through Twitter. At that time, she had just left corporate life and began her journey on creating and directing a documentary called The Beyond Sixty Project. A film that was profiling women over sixty who are showing the “power of resilience, defiance and the wisdom of experience“.

I admired Melissa’s courage and passion to try something completely different. I admired her passion to share inspirational stories of individuals over the age of 60 and her desire to show us how life really doesn’t have an expiration date.

Fast forward to today and Melissa has now achieved this dream she started a few years back of becoming a film maker. Right now she is currently in Los Angeles, California patiently waiting for her first screening of her movie.

I caught up with Melissa before the screening to find out how she feels about her experience and what advice she has for anyone else thinking of trying something new later in life. Here is what she had to share;

Here is the trailer for the Beyond Sixty Project Documentary;
